This 795-square kilometer National Park Was established in 1993 and has over 70 species of mammals including 13 primate species with the chimpanzees being the most-sought after. Queen Elizabeth National Park is undeniably one of Uganda’s most beautiful and frequently visited National Parks established in 1952 and extending for 1978 square kilometers. This Park is a haven to over 95 species of mammals and more than 600 species of birds making it one of the rich biodiversity hotspots in the country. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the south-west of Uganda was gazetted in 1991 and covers an area of 321 square kilometers. This Park is one of the four popular mountain gorilla trekking destinations but boasts of over 120 species of mammals and 350 species of birds of interest.
