3 days in Nyungwe National Park
With these 3 days in Nyungwe NP, you will enjoy chimpanzees trekking and beautiful nature experience of Nyungwe National Park. Nyungwe forest is one of the oldest mountain rainforests in Africa that has remained intact since the ice age which explains its remarkable biodiversity. The forest is well known for harboring many primates with 13 species recorded there including our closest relatives the chimps. Tips: You will be transferred to the airport by your driver to pick your flight back home.
The driver will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali at 7am and depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park in the southwest of Rwanda. The distance from Kigali to Nyungwe is about 225km and the travel time is 5 – 6 hours which includes a stopover midway for lunch.
Arrive at the Uwinka visitor’s center in Nyungwe and set out to do the canopy walk tour at 3pm. The canopy walk tour rewards with breath-taking views across the lush forest. The canopy walkway also gives you access to wildlife that live in the canopies of the forest such as the monkeys and rare birds. Accommodation and overnight at Hotel around Nyungwe National Park.
After early breakfast, we report at 5am to the Nyungwe park office, to meet the park guides for briefing and thereafter we drive to the starting point of chimpanzee trekking. After the chimpanzee adventure you shall spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Accommodation and overnight at Hotel around Nyungwe National Park.
Nyungwe has about 15 hiking trails that give visitors a chance to experience the diversity of the forest. After breakfast, we will hike to Isumo trail (waterfall trail) for a 3 hour hike. After the hike, we will drive back to Kigali
Everything comes to an end including this wonderful adventure through Rwanda. Fully equipped, pack your bags to catch the plane home. With a nice health colour on your cheeks, you get on the plane and with your eyes closed, your seat back, reminisce away about the cool adventures you have experienced.
